We here at Ironic T-Shirt have committed ourselves to making sketches every two weeks and we have a bit of a schedule down. I thought I would share it with you:
Monday - Should we meet? Yeah, we should probably meet. What should we do this time…no ideas…no ideas…no ideas…Tony looks at his ideas document on his iphone and suggests something we immediately thought was totally nuts. Two hours later, we are writing a sketch based on that idea.
Tuesday - We meet again and try to nail down what we are going to say in some sort of script. It ultimately fails and someone volunteers to write the script the next day.
Wednesday - Script gets sent out and gchat conversations commence all day about it.
Thursday - William and I (the unemployed ones) start getting props, which usually means I go to my parent’s house for all that weird crap I’ve been collecting all these years. Horse costume? Check. Broad Sword? Check. Bear mask? Check.
Friday - We storyboard and make a shotlist. At least one of us hasn’t read the final script yet. Everything points towards disaster on shoot day.
Saturday - SHOOT DAY!! Some how we barrel through 30 to 40 shots despite circling helicopters, ice cream trucks and people with megaphones shouting religious propaganda. Choose to not clean up the house today and celebrate with burgers!
Sunday - Start editing. This crazy idea turned into a pretty funny sketch.
Tuesday - Discuss more jokes we wish we had put it.
Thursday - We decide we hate everything and recut it to look exactly the same.
Sunday - Start uploading to youtube to meet our self imposed deadline. Our parents email us asking where the sketch is; everyone else doesn’t care.
Monday - Start promoting and watch the view counter go up…slowly…oh so very slowly…
